The jubilee Globema Conference was held on the 5-7 June in Lodz. In addition to the usual section dedicated to the implementation of software based on GE Digital Energy and Globema’s solutions, the event also included an all-day “Google Earth & Maps for Business” Seminar and FME World Tour 2013 workshops – a series of events organized around the world by the Canadian company Safe Software. The participants also had the opportunity to take part in a strategy game created on the basis of the 4RES system for RES operators, and participate in a reference visit at Dalkia Lodz.
Technical tracks at the conference were full of case studies and specific examples of the solutions offered by Globema and Partners. Sanjay Patel, General Director of Google GEO EMEA presented the G4B (Google for Business) strategy and solutions “in the cloud”. Krzysztof Jablonski, CTO at EmiTel, presented the results of implementing FFA at his company. Jaroslaw Tworog, Vice President of KIGEiT and Marek Maniecki, Vice President of Globema argued, that we should not be afraid of Smart Grid solutions – and moreover that their development is inevitable, and Poland can only benefit from manufacturing Smart Grid elements and creating Smart Grid software.
At the end of the second day, Marek Gondzio – Globema’s CEO summed up the company’s history over its 15 year life span, with particular emphasis on the last five years. Among recently achieved successes he mentioned receiving Research and Development Organization status, a number of innovative projects carried out by Globema and co-financed by the European Union and a significant increase in the presence of Globema in foreign markets, while maintaining long-term and fruitful cooperation with customers at home.
Conference guests will also remember the Jubilee Gala, held in the magnificent surroundings of the Palace of Poznansky, next to the famous Manufaktura. This palace, also called the Polish Louvre (due to the architectural resemblance) is a place where Andrzej Wajda shot the Oscar-nominated film “The Promised Land.” All Gala participants had the opportunity to visit the manufacturers’ rooms, listen to a concert of film music in the ballroom and taste specialties from Lodz in the magnificent dining room.
During the evening Gala Globema’s Board thanked selected customers and partners for long-term cooperation, giving commemorative awards. Globema also received two Jubilee Awards – from the Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications and the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications.
